      1) Turkey isn't actually called Turkey it is called Republic of Turkey since 1923. 
2) The first Christian church was built by man in Antioch, Turkey. 
3) Most Turks didn't have surnames until 1934. 
4) Saint Nicolas or better known as Santa Claus was born in Patara, Turkey. 
5) "cekoslovakyalilastiramadiklarimizdanmissiniz" is the longest word in Turkish. 
6) The Turkish alphabet doesn't include the letters "x" or "q" but it does include the dotless i. 
7) Tulips were introduced to the Europeans by Turkish traders in the 16th century.

Transportation in Turkey

Image result for transportation in turkey          Turkey does offer a few options when it comes to transportation. Turkey offers bus and train to get around from city to city. The other best option is to take an air plane to get from city to city, or out of the country. Turkey doesn't really offer boats or ferries unless you are going to the Greek islands. You can rent a car but you will be driving in chaotic traffic all of the time. Bikes may be a better solution if you do not want to deal with chaotic traffic.

Religion of Turkey

Religion 
      Turkey has some very diverse ethnicities as well as there religions. The main religion of Turkey is Muslim which takes up about 98% of Turkey's population. The other two minority religions are Christianity and Judaism which both take up about 2% of the population.  This picture depicts the Hagia Sophia Mosque in Istanbul.

Image result for cuisine of turkey lamb     There are many different styles and recipes of Turkey. Some of the main staples of there foods are lamb or beef, vegetables, fruits, and yogurt. They also use a lot of chickpeas. They like to roast them or use the to  make a humus. Various spices and herbs are also used to spice up their foods. Such as fennel, cinnamon, cumin and other herbs and spices.
